Bear with Birches - a Sketch

Just off Stud Mill Road, this logging road leads through a stand of birches and around and to the back of Little Musquatch Lake.  This is where I ran across this bear.

This lake is one of my favorite destinations in the Maine Northwoods.  It's surrounded by logging roads and trails frequented by bears and moose.

Reflections of a Moose

These massive antlers are a sight to remember!  The sun hit the tops of the antlers just right, producing brilliant reflections.  Stay right there, big fellow!

Memory Lane

Browsing through some old photos - took this one in Norway a few years ago.  This old watercolor painting hangs in my cousin Aage and his wife Grethe's house.  I painted it in 1958 and gave it to them as a wedding present.  A true antique!

First painting of 2013!

The Maine blueberry barrens were absolutely ablaze with color last fall.  I took about 50 photos, a number of them paintable.  Here's my rendition of one of my favorites.
